Hi All!
Okay so I got a gmail.com account and i tried to customize it with Outlook Express, both by hand and with the automatic configuration thing. Every time i open outlook it asks for my password and I enter it and it doesn't do anything. I know it's the right password cuz I can log in on the site jsut not with Outlook. Any suggestions?
Caitlin

Hey Caitlin,
OK, make sure your incoming pop server is pop.gmail.com. outgoing is smtp.gmail.com. check the box saying my server requires authentication. Then, under the advanced tab, in the first edit box, outgoing mail smtp, type 465. this site requires secure ssl? check it. Incoming mail pop3, type 995. check the next secure ssl box also. Apply those settings and you should be sweet.

HTH

Ok, I have a gmail account too, and I can't read any messages sent there. There isn't a link to click on or anything. How can we read stuff on gmail?

the way i've gotten gmail to work is by using the jaws cursor, the mouse buttons and the open and close list box commands, the text is like links, you left click til you get to lets say the pop and forwarding accounts, if anyone needs anymore help, pm me and i'll try to help out

is google mail free? and from what I've seen previously above, it's a pop3/smtp program, so it could be used with the BN perhaps...?

gmail is free. You need an invite which I may be able to give you. But you need to already have net access with the BN to get your mail (You don't get an access number or anything from Gmail.)

Yeah Caitlin you need this thingy from a website. I know thats not clear but you type this adress in and it downloads right away. Then you install it it asks you for your user name and password. You type that in and hit enter. Then The mail client closes. Make sure you have the write one to configure your account with. If you need the websites u r l contact me some how. Also if you need help with G mail let me know I am a user of G mail and can help you out. The G mail sight to let you all know is not accessible with jaws. To read why go to www.google.com and type in accessibility with g mail or something to that affect and it should bring you up with a lot of reviews and suggestions. There are hot keys you can use but you need to turn off the jaws quick navigation keys.

Season, you have to obtain an invite from someone who already has a gmail account.
